Q: Do I need special vaccines (like yellow fever) or malaria pills for Pereira?

A: Not for the wedding! None are required or needed for Pereira (or if you’re connecting through Bogotá or Cartagena). You’d only need to look into those if you’re extending your trip into jungle areas like the Amazon or Tayrona National Park—otherwise, regular bug spray for outdoor daytime activities is all you’ll need.

Q: Are pets allowed?

A: As much as we love animals, pets are not permitted at the wedding venues or official events.

Q: Are kids invited?

A: Kids are warmly welcome to join us for all pre-wedding events and Friday night's Brazilian Welcome Festinha! However, the main wedding ceremony and party on Saturday are adults-only. For guests traveling with children, we recommend bringing along grandparents—we’re pretty sure they’d love a few days in Colombia!—or a family helper for the trip so you can relax and celebrate freely on Saturday night.

Q: What about gifts?

A: Having you travel all the way to Colombia to celebrate with us is truly all the gift we need! Seriously—your presence is more than enough. If you're still itching to give us something, you can make a donation in Carmen’s honor to one of the dog rescue organizations in Colombia, the US, and Brazil that are close to our hearts. (Links coming soon!)

Q: Do I need to download WhatsApp on my phone?

A: Yes, absolutely! WhatsApp is the standard way to communicate in Colombia. Almost all wedding updates, shuttle logistics, communication with drivers, and help from our planning team will happen via WhatsApp. We recommend downloading the app and setting up your account before traveling so you don't miss a thing!

Q: Can I get help booking hair & makeup for the wedding day?

A: Yes! We are organizing hair and makeup services directly at the Sonesta Hotel on Saturday. Closer to the date, we will share more details and a sign-up sheet so you can easily reserve a slot for hair, makeup, or both.

Q: I have more questions, what's the best way to communicate with you guys?

A: If travel-related (airport transportation, flights, hotels, even restaurant reservations), feel free to reach out to the Access team—they are best suited to help!

Q: I heard about the recent earthquake in the coffee region—is it safe to travel, and are wedding plans affected?

A: You may have seen news of the recent earthquake that impacted parts of the region. We want to reassure you that our wedding venue, partner hotels (including the Sonesta), and surrounding travel routes are safe and completely unaffected.

While the community is actively working on recovery efforts, we have plenty of time on our side before our celebration. We believe the best way to stand by this wonderful region is to continue partnering with the local vendors, artisans, and families who are helping bring our weekend to life.
